Mon Chéri is a shade that's described as having "a life all its own."
The launch of VIOLETTE_FR's newest Bisou Balm embraces the storytelling that great marketing should provide for the end user. Set at the Hotel Chelsea, founder Violette Serrat brought to life her vision of a chocolate-covered cherry candy-inspired lipstick to beauty lovers through editorial visuals, a video skit, and an immersive playlist.
This one is for the girls who have pinned “French Girl Aesthetic” to their mood boards more than once. That perfect yet seemingly unachievable, effortlessly chic look — from the hair to the beautifully blurred but not sloppy lips.
VIOLETTE_FR said no gatekeeping. It's time to meet Mon Chéri, avec amour.

"It all started as a nostalgic homage to a chocolate-covered cherry candy from my childhood. Ironically, I wasn’t a fan of the flavor, but the color stuck with me. As I developed this shade, it became more than just a color—it turned into a bold statement, daring you to embrace your most authentic self," says brand founder Violette Serrat.
Serrat opted to shoot the Mon Chéri campaign at New York's infamous Hotel Chelsea, an establishment known for its vibes, but also its eclectic and glamorous history. The idea was to completely embody the energy of the shade itself.

Mon Chéri falls into the warmer category and is a neutral-but-not boring part brown, part red hue.
"I like to think of it as the 'chic older sister' to Bêtise because, much like Bêtise, it enhances your natural lip color—but Mon Chéri has a more universal, warm tone. The result is a look that’s fresh, sophisticated, and unmistakably YOU," the makeup artist and founder explains.

Retailing at $29 USD, each lipstick in the Bisou Balm collection has been uniquely formulated to blend into the lips as it simultaneously produces a blurring effect. This look is inspired by the French expression 'bouche mordue,' which translates to just-bitten lips.
Serrat describes the aesthetic as "quintessentially French, just after the iconic bold red lip."
What we love is that the Bisou Balms offer variety when it comes to the finish. You can go more natural and subtle with one swipe, or build up for a bolder look. You get to do lipstick your own way, tailor it to your personal preferences.

As marketers, our favorite part of each VIOLETTE_FR launch is the clear thoughtfulness and creativity. From the product development to the visuals, we are consistently met with a perspective that is uniquely Violette. And we wouldn't have it any other way.
A brand created by a founder who knows and loves makeup is not to be played with.
Of Mon Chéri, Serrat leaves us with big expectations and we can't wait to test it out.
"It is the perfect blend of sophistication, warmth, and freshness—offering a natural yet bold hue that suits all complexions. Your lips, but more saturated and elevated. It embodies my philosophy of transcending age and style, celebrating unapologetic self-love and confidence," she concludes.
