Westman Atelier, founded by Pro Makeup artist Gucci Westman, has released their newest skincare product, the Suprême C, a Vitamin C serum. This serum is a 100% Vitamin C serum, specifically 100% THD Ascorbate. There are NO additional ingredients.
Westman Atelier claims that Suprême C visibly brightens skin and fades dark spots in as little as 2 weeks. Other claims are that the serum is Clinically and Dermatologist tested to be safe for all skin types (including sensitive). This is a non-comedogenic formula with zero fragrance. For maximum results, they advise using Suprême C with the brand’s Skin Activator serum.

What is THD Ascorbate?
THD (Tetrahexyldecyl) Ascorbate is an oil soluble form of Vitamin C with strong antioxidant activity. Due to these characteristics, THD it is a highly stable form of Vitamin C. It’s gaining in popularity in formulas because it is less likely to oxidize or deteriorate overtime due to exposure to oxygen and other environmental stressors. THD typically has a shelf life of 6-12 months.
Benefits of THD Ascorbate
Compared to water soluble forms of Vitamin C (such as L-Asboric Acid) THD is oil soluble. Water soluble forms of Vitamin C are not able to penetrate past the lipid barrier of the skin. This minimizes the effects of Vitamin C. Since THD is oil soluble, it’s able to penetrate deeper into the skin maximizing the benefits of Vitamin C. Other benefits of THD Ascorbate are that it reduces hyperpigmentation and increases collagen production. THD is also known to be less irritating due to having a p.H of 4.0-6.0 which is compatible to skin.
