We love our dessert-themed makeup products, but a savory launch is fascinating. Our favorite Mexican food joint has collaborated with the viral lip stain brand to create a one-of-a-kind product, and we’re here for it.


Wonderskin’s lip stain received more attention following an Allure video of Kelsey Merritt. Its innovative formulation and application got people intrigued and curious. The color of the lip masque itself, before the stain is revealed, is also seen to be vibrant and electric, adding another layer of fun to the experience. Wonderskin undertook its first-ever collaboration with Chipotle to add to the lip stain's charm.


Chipotle x Wonderskin hits all the right spots. Lipotle, as they call it, is a “peel and reveal lip stain kit" that consists of the lip stain and the activator. Wonderskin’s lip stains differentiate itself from others in the market because it is alcohol-free and water-based, making it a formula that moisturizes the lips rather than drying them out. The product uses a unique technology to guarantee a transfer-proof, unmoving, long-lasting lip look. The lip masque is a gel that acts as the first step of the process. It is then followed by an activator mist, which helps create a “hyper-stain” reaction that locks in the color- revealing a smudge and transfer-proof stain.

This collaboration aims to prove that this lip stain truly does not budge. It capitalized on its long-wearing trait by labeling it ‘guac-proof’- which means that no matter what you eat while you have the lip stain on, the color and wear will not be affected. Chipotle wanted to create a product that allowed their food to be eaten on-the-go while providing an experience for their respective consumers. The kit retails for $29.


Adding to the launch's playfulness is the lip masque's color. The shimmery green plays with the Mexican food theme- creating an illusion of guacamole and foil. This is a fun twist to the product, giving even more attention to the collaboration. The lip masque reveals a perfect nude pink underneath, the ideal everyday color. While the product is a lip stain, people are seen using it as a subtle blush and an easy one-swipe eyeshadow, too! It is truly a versatile product that is perfect on the go.


The campaign features the signature brown Chipotle paper napkins and stunning green makeup looks. The images with the lip masque are monochromatic guacamole-inspired looks, and the ones that reveal the shade of the lip stain feature a simple, natural look to let the nude-pink lip stain shine. The models are seen eating burritos, being messy, and having fun—capturing the true essence of the collaboration—don’t let a faded lip shade ruin the fun, especially not when you’re eating a delicious meal.

The launch event was nothing short of a food and beauty lover’s dream. Individuals were greeted with a free Chipotle entrée, photo booth, and lip stain! And with BRAT Girl Summer being the new trend, the green lip stain became a must-buy for everyone!
