If you're a millennial (or just have a penchant for millennial pink), you're probably no stranger to the beauty trailblazer that is Glossier. Launched in 2014, Glossier rapidly climbed the beauty ranks with its iconic minimalist vibe and the alluring "your skin but better" mantra. They started with just a few products but now feature a range of skincare, makeup, fragrances, and more.
On their site, Glossier states their mission loud and clear: “At Glossier, we make products inspired by real life, embracing the ethos of Skin First. Makeup Second. We believe beauty is about having fun, celebrating freedom, and being present. No matter where you are in your beauty journey, you look good.” Founder Emily Weiss, who you might recognize as the brains behind the beauty blog Into The Gloss, knows her stuff. Think skincare secrets, trending tips, and those #shelfies that make you rethink your entire bathroom aesthetic.
But let's talk about the real star here: Ultralip.
If you haven’t yet acquainted yourself with this gem, let me bring you up to speed. Launched in 2021, Ultralip is a 3-in-1 lip product. Glossier touts it as having “the rich moisture of a balm, the sheen of a gloss, and the buildable color of a lip tint, without the hassle of layering multiple products.”
In today’s world of "skin minimalism" (a.k.a., being too lazy to carry a zillion products), Ultralip is a saving grace. After all, who wants to juggle liner, lipstick, balm, and gloss when you could be living your best life with a cocktail in hand poolside? Not me. And definitely not you.
Now, drumroll, please!
Glossier has graced us with two new Limited Edition Ultralip shades from their Summer Capsule Collection.
Glossier describes this collection as “inspired by the vibrant French Riviera,” featuring two shades: Apricot, “a warm creamsicle,” and Deco, “a rich burnt orange.” They’re perfect for that sun-kissed look we’re all craving, these shades are like a summer vacation for your lips.
The tube exudes playful summer vibes with its bright orange case and iconic Glossier pink lettering. Plus, the packaging is made from up to 50% recycled plastic, so you can shop sustainably and be mindful of your carbon footprint.
Here’s what we love about Ultralip:
Ultralip is buildable, conditioning, and enhancing – all the things your lips dream of. Also, it’s cruelty-free and vegan, so you can feel good while looking good. The nourishing triple-oil blend of Meadowfoam, Jojoba, and Watermelon locks in moisture, making your lips feel like they’ve just had a spa day.
Application?
A breeze. Swipe once for a hint of color, or layer up for a more saturated hue. And in case you’re wondering about staying power—yes, Ultralip holds its own. I didn’t need to reapply for hours, and my lips stayed hydrated and plump, thanks to the hydrating hyaluronic acid blend.
The highlights:
Easy to apply: No mirror? No problem.
Comfortable and nourishing: Your lips will thank you.
Buildable and versatile: From a whisper of color to a shout, it’s all up to you.
Long-lasting shine and hydration: Because nobody’s got time for constant touch-ups.
Flattering shades: With 11 original shades plus the 2 new summer ones, you’ll find an Ultralip you love no matter your skin tone.
I absolutely love this launch from Glossier because they’ve added two new summer shades to an already great line of lip colors. This lip product is all about ease—easy to apply and wear. And at $22 a pop, you’re not going to break the bank.
For $40, you can get the Summer Ultralip Duo, one of the classic Ultralip shades with one of the new limited-edition colors.
The downside?
They’re only available for a limited time, so be sure to snag yours before supplies run out! I visited the Glossier store in Melrose, Los Angeles, and fell in love with the Deco shade which was already sold out in-store, luckily they were able to ship it to me with no additional charge.
The bottom line?
Ultralip gives you that perfect mirror-like shine without feeling heavy or sticky. If you love a good gloss, then Glossier Ultralip is a must-have. And for sun-kissed lips, all season long, try one (or both) of their Limited Edition shades. Your lips will thank you.
